When Nikki came up with the idea of doing a "Seven sins" theme I stressed out a bit. Because I’m a lazy bitch and can’t shoot 7, completely different selfportraits in 2 days. But I also didn’t want to pick just one of them.
So we decided to do a project within the project, 7 weeks, 7 sins. Wednesday is the deadline for photo 1, which will be Luxuria! So you will know the themes for the following weeks, just not in what order. Yet.
Good times! :D
Ik heb ‘The Queen’ geschilderd.
;) xoxo Nikki
When Jeanique e-mailed me the theme for week 1, I never thought it would turn out to be so suitable for what was going to happen to me during that week. I’ve literally made this work during my own storm. During a sleepless night, in which I saw my own big dark clouds forming. I was alone and in crisis. Jeanique texted me that night if I was ok and if she and Emiel had to come pick me up. I said I wasn’t ok but that I’d rather use this mood to work on the project. She adviced me to use these extreme emotions to create something, anything! “You can do this!”, she said.
I had this song on repeat during the making of my work. One piece of lyric immediatly drew my attention: “I hope you’re satisfied to see the wind blow over me”. I’ve hidden that line of text somewhere on the painting. xoxo Nikki
Waaah! If you read this it means we managed to get things up and running! Really excited to start a new project, especially ‘cause this is my first project I share with someone else. Nikki and I have been friends for a couple of years now, I always thought she’s really talented and do a collaboration with her has been in my mind for such a long time.
